Kante has returned to Chelsea training, but one player had to train alone ahead of the match against Southampton.
After suffering a series of setbacks during his injury recovery, Christian Pulisic has began individual conditioning work, according to Chelsea. In early September, the 23-year-old sustained an ankle injury while playing for the United States and has not appeared for Chelsea since. Thomas Tuchel confirmed during a press conference before Malmo's win last week that Pulisic experienced some obstacles due to pain, but not due to a significant injury or complications.
“These players with quick movements like Christian, once they feel this pain, and they are not free in the movement, the recovery is not happening,” the German told the media. “You start all over again, and you start all over again, and you reach a certain point and the pain comes back. “And you have to do a little pause and start all over again.”
Chelsea's Kante is returned, while Lukaku and Werner are still sidelined. N'Golo Kante also took part in full training, according to the club. Tuchel recently confessed that he chose against the player's desires not to play the dynamic midfielder in Saturday's win over Norwich City. However, Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are both still recovering from injuries and are unlikely to play against the Saints.
