Report: Chelsea player does u-turn over his future and decides that he will be leaving

Antonio Rudiger has apparently opted to quit Chelsea next season, despite the fact that talks over a new deal have stalled.According to The Athletic, the defender is "resigned to departing next year" due to the uncertainty surrounding his contract extension. Rudiger's contract expires in June 2022, which means he will be eligible to speak with overseas clubs about a potential move on January 1st.

Is the price appropriate?

Due to a disagreement over wage demands, discussions with the German about extending his stay have come to a halt. The 28-year-old wants his salary to be doubled by the Blues' board of directors, bringing him closer to the £200,000-a-week (Athletic) figure.

Chelsea, on the other hand, has so far responded to these demands with a £140,000-per-week offer.According to multiple Athletic sources, neither party intends to change their stance, resulting in an uneasy impasse. According to the Transfer Window Podcast, it was widely assumed that Rudiger preferred to stay at Stamford Bridge.
