Report: Newcastle plan to tempt Champions League boss with £211k-a-week offer
Newcastle are reportedly attempting to entice Ajax coach Erik Ten Hag with a £211k-a-week offer, which is more than Thomas Tuchel earns at Chelsea, according to the Mail. Since taking charge at Ajax in December 2017, Ten Hag, 51, has been outstanding. He has two Eredivisie titles to his credit, with 133 victories in only 181 games.
Several managers have been linked with Newcastle. Paulo Fonseca, Frank Lampard, and Lucien Favre are among those who have lately lost their jobs. However, Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has been connected with the Toon. If Ten Hag also joins, Overmars is thought to be tempted.
Ten Hag, who was awarded the world's fourth-best manager at the 2019 FIFA Best Awards, will be paid a massive £500,000.That would make him the third-highest paid manager in the Premier League, behind Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.
Tuchel, Brendan Rodgers, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all have higher salaries than Tuchel at Chelsea, Rodgers at Leicester City, and Solskjaer at Manchester United.
