'THE BOARD HAVE GONE MAD': SOME CHELSEA FANS STUNNED BY REPORT WHICH EMERGED THIS MORNING

Chelsea fans on social media were perplexed by the decision on Antonio Rudiger's wage demands, which is reported to have been made. According to The Athletic, the Blues' board of directors 'believe they have made Rudiger a very good offer' in terms of a pay raise and have 'no intentions to boost it any further.'

The German is now unable to reach an agreement on new conditions for his existing contract, which is set to end next summer. If the defender's financial problems are not rectified within the next two months, he will be able to begin talks with international clubs about a possible transfer.

So, what's the issue here?

Rudiger is reportedly seeking £200,000 per week (Athletic), believing that his performances since Thomas Tuchel's appointment have earned him a place among Chelsea's highest-paid players. The Blues have so far offered roughly £140,000 per week, a price that they appear to have resolved on.

Followers of Tuchel's team couldn't believe how obstinate people in charge of the cash flow were.
