BREAKING: Champions League club offers to pay 25% of Ronaldo’s salary following the loom in transfer deadline
Following recent reports and analysis this summer, Cristiano Ronaldo may yet decide to leave Manchester United.
Corriere della Sera claims there is a potential the 37-year-old will suit up for Napoli this year.
The Serie A club has been advised by Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, that United would be prepared to pay €100 million (£84 million) to acquire their striker Victor Osimhen.
The Portuguese might decide to turn around as a result of this.
Napoli values Osimhen at €130 million, but they would be open to lowering that figure if they could acquire Ronaldo in exchange.
There is one catch, though: Napoli could only afford to cover 25% of Ronaldo's salary.
Ronaldo expressed his "upset" at having his compensation cut at United, when every player's weekly salary was reduced by 25%.
That resulted from the club's failure to earn a spot in the Champions League, in which Ronaldo is fervently trying to keep playing.
